It has been reported that the desktop website would shut down from 1st May 2015. Although Myntra has not made any official statements yet, it has been reported from various sources that its parent company Flipkart might soon follow suit as well.

According to an NDTV report, Myntra claims that around 85 percent of all users come to the site via the app anyway, and that around 63 percent of all purchases happen on the app. Therefore, maintaining both a desktop and an app presence was not warranted, the company believes.  Speaking about the growing importance of the mobile app platform in an interview last week, Prasad Kompalli, Head of e-commerce platform, Myntra told NDTV that the growing adoption of smartphones has allowed it to become more than a catalog, which isn’t necessarily possible when working on the desktop.

Kompalli said  that “Mobile apps are the best platform for Myntra today, as they allow you to integrate with contacts, calendar, and camera, which can be used to improve the user’s experience in a number of ways.”

According to reports, the co-pilot assaulted the pilot physically after he was told to take down critical figures to be noted before the take-off. The co-pilot has allegedly misbehaved with other commanders in the past as well.

An Air India spokesperson said “The two had an argument. They have settled the issue”. Both the pilots have been de-rostered (taken off duty) pending further investigation.

A few days ago, an association representing Air India pilots wrote to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) saying co-pilots were being “forced to work overtime” without adequate remuneration. “Putting these highly-stressed and financially over-burdened co-pilots in the same cockpit… is a perfect recipe for disaster” NDTV quoted the association as saying. The letter also said “At times of equipment malfunction, turbulence or emergency, a pilot must remain calm… How can an Air India pilot perform his duties in such a manner when he is already highly stressed?”

The DGCA has started discussions with the Directorate of Medical Services for regular check-ups of pilots to evaluate their psychological health.

The index will provide real time data about the level of air pollution on a daily basis. It will be available in 10 cities for now. Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar informed that the index will be expanded to 46 cities with a population of 1 million or more each in the next couple of years. The new index will track 8 different pollutants and will denote different health impact levels with color coding.

Speaking at the conference, the Prime Minister urged Indians to be sensitive towards nature and environment and said “We have been brought up in a nation where environment protection is connected with human sentiments, and nature is considered next to God”

The PM also talked about effective waste management and the importance of cleaning Ganga.

The two-day conference will have multiple sessions for ministers and officials to brainstorm proposed changes in the six environment laws.

An ‘extreme mode’ on device is also said to enable the last 10 percent of battery power to potentially last for another 33 hours 45 minutes of standby time.

The device will hit the stores in a weeks time and will be available in Black, White and Blue colour variants. It will be priced at Rs 24,999.

This win helped Sania Mirza gain valuable points in World’s Double’s Rankings and she is now just 145 points from the World Number 1 Title.

Sania commented after the match “We just tried to keep telling each other to enjoy the struggle. Last week everything came very, very easily to us – we didn’t lose more than four games in a set. The film stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Paul Walker in his final film. Actor Paul Walker died in a 2013 car crash at the age of 40 and his work on the film was completed using digital technology and a series of stand-ins. The speed racing action thriller ends with a touching tribute dedicated simply, “For Paul.”

Excited theatergoers experienced a roller coaster ride of emotions after watching Fast and Furious 7. The movie was packed with hilarious one liners and amazing car chase sequences but what really set it apart was the tribute to late Paul Walker at the end which left most people teary-eyed.

The video was hailed as a ‘step in the right direction’ by many people.

However, a few lines in the video irked some. ‘It is My Choice to have sex outside marriage’ was one such line which caused an outrage.

Soon after, a male version of the video emerged. The video ended with the message ‘Respect Women and Men. We don’t support cheating or adultery’. Striking the right chords, the video gained popularity as well, getting 1.3 Million views on YouTube.

A few months ago, we saw a similar initiative taking place when Parle India had launched an ad campaign around Clean India. These type of videos drive home the message, and are more effective than showing a celebrity or a politician holding a broom.
